Commission Guidelines

I have two different categories when it comes to commissions. One is where I create it traditionally (charcoal on paper) the other is digitally (Adobe Photoshop and Fresco in a painterly style).

Charcoal Portraits/Landscapes

I accept requests for custom portraits, house drawings, and landscapes from a photo. My main two sizes are 11inx14in and 18inx24in paper. If you need a custom size, feel free to ask and I'll try my best to accommodate you.

How does the commission process work?

1. Contact me via email, contact page, or on my Beth Marie Art Etsy page. Feel free to send a message to discuss commission requests or if you have any questions.

2. Once we get in contact, I will ask you for the photo(s) you would like me to re-create as a drawing. I will make sure that the photo fits the aspect ratio that works with the paper. If not, I can usually crop or adjust it to fit. If not I will request different photos.

3. Payment can either be through Etsy or through PayPal. When payment is complete I can start the drawing.

4. I will start the sketching process. When the sketch is done, I will send an update. After that, depending on the complexity of the drawing, I will send 1-3 progress pictures. During the drawing process, I allow up to two revisions. Most drawings will take about 1-2 weeks to complete and 5-7 days for shipping.

5. When the drawing is complete and the final photo is sent to the client, I ship it out. Shipping across the U.S is free, but international shipping is not. I either ship it flat or rolled up in a shipping tube.   The method depends on the size of the drawing. I will send a tracking number when I ship it.

Digital Paintings

The process is similar to the one above, but there is no shipping cost involved! Steps 1 through 3 are the same. Instead of shipping, I will deliver a high-quality 300dpi jpg and png file.  Once you received the digital download, I will suggest websites such as society6 to get your download printed on. There is no pressure to use the links I give, there are many websites and photo labs that will print your digital painting.
